Occasions Media Group announced today a rebrand of their flagship title, Occasions to The Celebration Society. The new direction is just the first step in a strong editorial change that puts the focus on highlighting the people and places brides, moms and party planners need to organize an unforgettable occasion.
When it comes to events like weddings and parties, the information sources are endless. Maybe even a little too much. In sea of pretty pictures and continuous scrolls of inspiration we started to ask ourselves “how do we deliver something different?” So we set out to find out secret sauce and we did. We asked ourselves: What are we passionate about? What do our readers look to us for? Where do we best serve the industry? What are we the authority on? The answer was clear: We’re passionate about the people who work events everyday. Telling their story, discovering new talent, and respecting industry veterans. Ultimately elevating the vendor/client relationship above all.”
Our team isn’t compiled of professional party planners and designers creating original ideas in our offices, we’re a group of curators all across the country constantly on the look out for inspiring work done by the professionals. We’re particular on style and look with a discerning eye for honest-to-goodness great ideas, great places and great people. We put a face with a name and story with a slogan. That is what we do. So we’re getting specific and making that message clear.
Occasions has always referred to their advertisers as The Celebration Society so the name came as an easy transition and obvious choice. “We wanted something that would communicate to our readers ‘you’ll want to hire someone who is a part of this exclusive society.’
Yes and No. We will continue to deliver the most beautiful, inspiring ideas for all occasions but now with a behind-the-scenes spin from the industry experts who created them. Plus, we’re on the streets touring venues, interviewing event experts, compiling round-ups, vetting resources and discovering new talent. We will still feature real weddings, parties and all celebrations and we’ll to the extra mile to interview the party planners to get their perspective on the event. In our real event features in print, we’ll highlight the place, the planner and the photographer for the event as well.
When you have an upcoming occasion on the calendar, the venue you choose and vendors you hire will make the most impact on the success of that day. Be it a wedding, bar/bat mitzvah, birthday party or baby shower, the professional services you’ll need like a location, wedding planning, catering, entertainment, floral design, and party rentals are the essential event elements no party could take place without. Their expertise orchestrate the senses you and your guests will experience throughout the day, so finding the very best companies to execute your style is of the utmost importance.
That’s where we come in. The Celebration Society is connected to the most reputable wedding venues and vendors and we’re committed to introducing our readers to the very best. The most talented, the most vested and most committed to providing impeccable service and we serve them up on a glittery silver platter just for you.
We believe you don’t have to do it yourself and you certainly don’t have hire a stranger. In an age where we are very social, we believe that information breeds trust and ultimately people do business with people they know. We help them get to know their vendors here.
The print magazines will now display The Celebration Society logo, web address and have undergone a beautiful, classic redesign. The real event features also now have special callouts highlighting the venue, photographer and vendors hired for the event.
