MARCH 2016 – Occasions Media Group announced today a new distribution plan for The Celebration Society that will change the frequency of their Weddings magazine from a tri-annual schedule to an annual edition beginning in 2017.
The decision to combine three issues into one was considered after much research and analysis of the publications target demographic. Editorial Director, Heather Vreeland says “We’ve noticed many of our brides are one-time readers because once they use the magazine for it’s core purpose: to pick their wedding style, find a venue, and hire their vendors, they really don’t need to purchase future issues. Because of this, we realize we can still help the next newly engaged bride without the increased cost of reprinting magazines with just new style content, when much of the book includes helpful guides that already do not change issue-to-issue. Moving forward our editorial team will be more selective when choosing real weddings and style content that will also stay relevant all year.”
With traffic to TheCelebrationSociety.com up by 45% in 2015, the transition to an annual print edition gives the editorial team and writers more time to focus on the growing online marketplace and digital products. “We’re really excited about the growth we’ve experienced this year and the reach of our mission on a digital level hasn’t gone unnoticed by our team. We’re capitalizing on the power of technology and allocating our efforts appropriately between our platforms that help us further our mission both online and offline.
Print is still a pivotal part of The Celebration Society’s reach touching just under 50,000 brides in the southeast each year. The new annual editions will still include the well-known venue guide special advertising section, advice columns, tipping guides, pricing guides and expansive real weddings, and style pictorials. Vreeland continues “Combining the energy of three publications into one giant “wedding ideas book” for each year decreases internal costs that will then be passed onto our advertisers decreasing the annual investment a business has to make in order to be in the issue.”
The remaining issues of The Celebration Society: Weddings in 2016 will print on the same schedule as they always have. Summer will be released in May and Fall will be released in September.
The first annual edition of The Celebration Society: Weddings 2017 will be released in January 2017 and will be available on newsstands all throughout 2017.
Business who wish to advertise in the annual publication, may request membership consideration at TheCelebrationSociety.com. Photographers and planners who would like to submit styled shoots or real weddings to be featured may do so at TwoBrightLights.com
